The SMRT (Aronoff and Landsberger, 2013) is a measure of spectral resolution that correlates with speech measures (Holden et al., 2016; Lawler et al., 2017; Zhou, 2017).
Conducting the test is quick and easy and the software is available for free download from this webpage. |
The SLRM (Landsberger et al., 2019) is a modification of the SMRT designed for a CD-player, allowing clinics that do not have computers in their test booths to conduct the test.
Scores on the SLRM are highly correlated with the SLRM (r = 0.97), suggesting that SLRM can be used interchangeably with SMRT. |
The QSMD (Quick Spectral Modulation Detection; Gifford et al., 2014) provides a fast and clinically feasible estimate of spectral resolution (modulation detection) for cochlear implant users. It correlates with speech understanding for adult post-lingually deafened cochlear implant users (Gifford et al., 2018).
The EasyQSMD software is a new, easy-to-use software package to measure QSMD that is described in Landsberger et al. (2019). |
The EasyMDT (Landsberger at Stupak, in press) is a tool used to measure Modulation Detection Thresholds (MDTs). MDTs are considered a metric of temporal processing. The test is based on Won et al. (2011) and Bacon and Viemeister (1985).
