The Electrical Auditory Research Lab (EAR Lab) at the NYU School of Medicine studies the basic properties of electrical stimulation of the auditory nerve. They use the knowledge gained from these studies to design and implement the next generation of cochlear implant sound processing strategies which should provide better understanding of speech in noisy environments as well as music quality.
