Thanks to Quentin Mesnildrey for pointing out a bug and also providing a work around with SMRT on some European computers. Specifically, if your computer uses a comma ( , ) to indicate a decimal, the software will misbehave. If your computer uses a period ( . ) it should be fine as is.

If the SMRT computer uses a comma to indicate a decimal, you must change the settings to use a period. Then the software will behave correctly.

Below are instructions to make the fix for windows 7 in English. A similar procedure is needed for Windows XP, 8.1, and 10. Of course the prompts will be different with a different language or different version of Windows.

To make the switch on windows 7 go to the control panel and select "Clock, Language, and Region"

From the control panel, select "Clock, Language, and Region"

Next Select "Region and Language"

And then click "Additional Settings"

Make sure your settings match these settings.  When the correct settings are made, click "Apply" and the SMRT should work correctly.
